Sack catalogue description: Hepplewhite mahogany grandfather clock of desirable small size, the exceptional case has black and white fan quadrants in the door and base sections as well as in the corners of the hood door, the quarter columns and fluted hood columns are capped by finely wrought brass Corinthian capitals; the waist door is centered by an inlaid spray, the enamel moon dial has two bluebirds on the face and is inscribed, "Nath. Edwards, Acton"; the contemporary inscription inside the case, which reads "Jason Richards, Woburn," is probably that of the case maker, the beauty is enhanced by a warm mellow brown patina, made by Nathan Edwards.
