- Sack catalogue description: Rare Sheraton mahogany armchair with upholstered back and bowed seat, the crest panel with repeat drapery and tassel carving, molded arms with upholstered arm rests and daisy-carved terminals; reeded and fluted arm supports on fluted and daisy-carved plinths, tapered reeded legs ending in round spade feet. The chair is companion to or one of a set with a pair of armchairs in the Green Room of the White House; the White House chairs are classified Philadelphia but are New York, possibly Lannuier in our opinion. Descended in the Broughton family of Brooklyn Heights.
