- Sack catalogue description: William and Mary walnut and walnut veneer slant-top desk, original ball feet of trumpet shape, the drawers are fronted by finely matched crotch veneer with herringbone borders that run through the line of the engraved brasses and escutcheons (contemporary but not the first set); the lid is similarly veneered with four divided crotch panels, the interior has a sliding well with concave blocked drawers behind flanked by cyma-shaped ladder and an end row of concave blocked drawers on each side, choice mellow brown patina.
