Sack catalogue description: Queen Anne walnut side chair of stately proportion and choice modeling, carved shell in bold relief, vase-shaped splat; platformed pad feet with scribed line carving. To our knowledge this is the first appearance of this rare foot detail on a distinctive Newport form, although a small number of Massachusetts pieces display this feature.
