Notes:: Sack catalogue description: Queen Anne San Domingan mahogany corner chair, one cabriole leg with pointed knee, pad foot and flaring trumpet platform; turned side and rear legs ending in pad feet with flaring trumpet platforms, cyma-scrolled aprons, interlaced splat; fine bronze patina, the careful craftsmanship and the modeling from dense mahogany show the hand of a superior artisan. This chair descended in the Broughton family of Salem, Massachusetts, and appears to be by the same hand as record P3871, a Queen Anne mahogany lowboy.
