Sack catalogue description: William and Mary highboy of walnut and maple with burl veneer fronts of beautifully chosen textured figure, the drawers with herringbone borders, the trumpet legs are superbly turned with flaring trumpets and inverted cup capitals; the arched and cyma-shaped outlines of the front and side stretchers conform to the complementary cock-beaded outlines of the aprons, the proportions are exemplary and the piece retains the old or original patina. Ex-collection Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel Taradash.
