Notes:: The story tells about a couple Vũ Thị Thiết and Trương Sinh who live in Nam Xương. The husband Trương Sinh is enlisted to go to war. Every night, the wife Vũ Thị Thiết tries to comfort her son by pointing to her shadow on the wall and says that it is the Daddy. After a while, Trương Sinh comes back home. The son doesn’t recognize his father and says that “ My Dad doesn’t come home until night”. No matter what the wife explains, the husband thought his wife is having an affair. Feeling so miserable and heart broken, she jumps into Hoàng Giang river to commit suicide.
Abstract:: Truyện kể về đôi vợ chồng Vũ Thị Thiết vàTrương Sinh ở huyện Nam Xương. Trương Sinh đi lính. Ở nhà, cứ tối đến, trước ánh đèn, Thiết thường chỉ bóng mình giỗ con "Cha mày đấy". Do vậy khi Sinh về, con không nhận cha, nói :"Cha tôi đến tối mới về". Bất chấp mọi lời giải thích, Trương Sinh vẫn nghĩ vợ mình ngoại tình. Quá đau khổ, Thiết nhảy xuống sông Hoàng Giang tự tử.
