- Undertunics of white linen are for men and women. This is a fine twelfth-century example of the fuller skirt.
- Abstract:
- Essentially Roman is form, Byzantine dress looks totally new. Garments include the kneelength tunica tolaris, the pallium, and the paludamentum, which is now decorated with the tablion. Gradually, through the seventh century, the toga becomes very narrow.
