- Abstract:
- Jewelry is rich and varied. There are collars, necklaces, arm and ankle bracelets, earrings, rings, fillets, and diadems. The common motifs are worked into the designs, such as the geometric patterns and the stylized and symbolic versions of flowers, insects, and animals. In the early dynasties jewelry is made of colored pebbles. Gradually these are replaced by glazed beads and semiprecious stones, such as turquoise, lapis lazuli, and carnelian. Typical of the late dynasties are glass, faience, and gold.
