Inscription by Lanqi Daolong: 'He was the youngest son of King Xiangchi / And follower of Prajnatara's eminent line / He studied the Buddha / Destroying the heretical views of the six sects / He came to China, and the strange five-petalled flower blossomed / The fragrant doctrine was transmitted to Japan / The auspicious signs like sands of the river / The original spiritual sprout of Shaolin flourished / And transplanted to the noble line abroad / An extraordinary flower grew.'
