- The museum was built to commemorate the 45th wood festival in Hyogo Prefecture. It is located three hours by car from Osaka near a ski resort in Mikata-gun forest. The museum features a ring-shaped exhibit hall with a 46 m outer diameter and a 22 m inner void. The wood columns within rise to a height of 16 m.
