Abstract:
Portrait of Mrs. Porteus (sometimes Porteous), wife of Bishop Beilby Porteus, Bishop of Chester 1776-1787 and Bishop of London 1787-1809. The couple were intimate friends of Hannah More who introduced them to Horace Walpole.
