Execution of Five Witches in Lausanne

Published/Created:
ca. 1560-1588
Notes:
The Swiss Protestant clergyman Johann Jakob Wick (1522-1588) collected broadsheets and wrote a chronicle illustrated with coloured drawings on contemporary events - such as comets, earthquakes and floods - that he deemed strange and peculiar. The drawings are contemporary visual testimonies about witches, their crimes and their executions in the period 1560-1588.
