Abraham Waters, fourth mate on the second voyage of the Columbia in 1791, sailed with Capt. Gray to the Northwest Coast of North America.
The "Vocabulary" was transcribed in 1828 from the original which Abraham Waters’s widow gave to Elbridge G. Howe.
