Abstract:
Marriage contract, manuscript, black ink on paper, dated 3rd of Adar 5615 at Vidin (1855). There are two columns of text within decorative arches. On the left side are the terms of betrothal (erusin) and the right side is the marriage agreement (kidushin), both signed by the same witnesses. In the semicircles of the arches are blessings for the bride and groom. In the left side there is additional text at the bottom entitled ""lista,"" enumerating the dowry. The text is written in Sephardic script. The top of the ketubah is in the shape of a scalloped triangle. Within it is a circle which contains the verse from Deut. 28:8. In the center of the circle is a six pointed star that contains various acronyms.
