Date of publication based on imprint, complete apart from a crossed-out (but still legible) year, on earlier state: Pubd. December 24, 1808, by Thos. Tegg, No. 11 [sic] Cheapside. Cf. No. 11145 in the Catalogue of prints and drawings in the British Museum. Division I, political and personal satires, v. 8.
Plate might have been published, perhaps in an earlier state, on 24 December 1809. See: Grego, J. Rowlandson the caricaturist, v. 2, page 168.
