Abstract:
Students near President Ezra Stiles take off their hats, a time-honored custom. The building known as Yale College was constructed in 1717 and razed in 1782. The "College Chapel," originally named First Chapel, was constructed between 1761 and 1763; from 1824 until it was razed in 1893 it was known as the Athenaeum.
