Date based on death date of Anne Seymour Damer, who possibly assembled the extra-illustrated volume in which this drawing is mounted.
Given by Mrs. Anne Damer to Sir Wathen Waller. Later owned by John Hely-Hutchinson, with his bookplate on verso of first flyleaf of volume. Sold Sotheby's, 14 March 1956 (Hely-Hutchinson Sale), lot 584, to Maggs for W.S. Lewis.

Abstract:

Floor plan of the chancel in St. Mary's Church, Sundridge, Kent, with the altar shown at top and the tombs of various persons to the right and left. The tombs to the right of the altar are drawn in outline, with measurements indicated beside them. The tomb in the upper right is labeled "Lady Ayesbury"; the one in the lower right, originally labeled "Vacant grave", has been updated with the information "now The Honble. Anne S. Damer, May 28, 1828, aet. 80". The tombs to the left of the altar are not drawn but simply indicated with the annotation "At this spot are the graves of Lord and Lady Frederick Campbell".
