Notes:
A quartered shield—the first featuring a lion rampant against a field Argent; the second, a castle against a field Azure. The third and fourth each contain a field Or, with a armored right-handed fist grasping a crosslet fitchee in the third quarter, and a sailing vessel and a large fish beneath in the fourth. The shield is edged by leafing, grasses, and flowers. At the helm is a knight's helmet; at the crest, atop a torse, is a battle axe with two different types of branches crossed behind it. Above this is the motto Altera Merces.
