Mounted; ms. note on mount: "Wilkes, Hogarth, Ch. Churchil." Additional ms. note: "Alludes to the quarrel between Wilkes & Hogarth. Wilkes replied to Hogarth's satirical portrait of Wilkes by the North Briton XVII which is very bitter in tone. There is little doubt that this quarrel shortened Hogarth's life."
