Scope and Contents
The speeches and writings files primarily consist of drafts and published versions of Kissinger’s speeches and articles from 1977 to 2006. A number of files contain notes or transcripts of interviews he gave during this period. A few of the files concern earlier speeches and writings from the 1960s and 1970s but include material added from later years, and these files were originally kept by Kissinger’s staff with the other post-government files. There are also smaller sections concerning reviews of Kissinger’s books and the regular articles Kissinger wrote for Newsweek magazine. The Newsweek files cover only a selection of Kissinger’s articles for the publication and additional related material can be found in the general section of the speeches and writings files. The speeches and writings files do not contain materials relating to the writing of his memoirs or other books from this period except for the copies of book reviews.
