Sack catalogue description: Hepplewhite mahogany inlaid secretary-desk, lower case with four drawers with inlaid ivory diamond escutcheons, outsplayed French feet; upper case with two glass doors with Gothic arch mullions, ivory escutchones, crossbanded panels which conceal drawers and pigeonholes; shaped crest with flame satinwood or birch center panel and end plinths, patterned inlay frames the central panel and those below the glass and sawtooth inlay accents the apron; original brass finials, choice mellow brown patina. Attributed to Emery Moulton, Lynn, Massachusetts; this secretary is closely related or a virtual counterpart to the documented secretary by Emery Moulton in American Antiques from Israel Sack Collection, vol. 7, p. 1946, pl. P343, suggesting an attribution to that maker.
