Sack catalogue description: Pilgrim oak chest with hinged lid and one drawer, the front contains three panels of geometric moldings flanked by split spindles, the drawer also flanked by spindles; triglyphs, bosses and diamonds complete the decorations, all of which are original. This chest descended in the family of Captain William Trask of Salem, Massachusetts, who came to this country as early as 1628 and was one of the founders of Salem; it remained in the Trask family until we purchased it. Vignettes of the Trask homestead, including the front view of the home on Boston Street in Salem and an interior of the Trask homestead, are illustrated.
