Sack catalogue description: Chippendale walnut small-scale bureau with Beau Brummel fitted top drawer, the drawers with beaded edge borders retain the original bat wing brasses, the drawers are flanked by chamfered fluted columns; the ogee bracket feet with canted corners to continue the line of the columns, molded top with notched corners and retaining molding, fine amber patina; the fitted top drawer is missing the adjustable mirror.

YUAG catalogue note: Beau-Brummel dressing tables are described as mens' or ladies' dressing boxes on a tall stand with a lid that opens to reveal a fitted interior, usually with drawers beneath; this form was named after George Bryan "Beau" Brummell (1778–1840), an iconic figure in Regency England and an arbiter of men's fashion at the time.
