Notes:: Sack catalogue description: Hepplewhite mahogany secretary with satinwood panels bordering the drawers, upper case with Gothic doors and frieze, the drop panel in base and the center crest panel contain ovals of satinwood and mahogany; octagonal ivory escutcheons, original brasses. This secretary descended in the Brown family of North Hampton, New Hampshire, and in 1801 belonged to John Brown of North Hampton; a family history accompanies this object. Attributed to Judkins and Senter, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
