Notes:: Sack catalogue description: Chippendale San Domingan mahogany small card table, the front and sides are serpentine in shape and blocked from the solid, the aprons are serpentine in the reverse plane with carved borders; the conforming top has a border of repeat fluted notches, the reeding of the stop fluting extends half way up the legs which retain the original casters, the pierced corner brackets are the original and a drawer is concealed by the rear gate; the condition and patina of this table are superb, the top has a swirling grain with a flowing bronze patina of rare beauty. Attributed to John Townsend. Ex-collection Israel Sack, Inc., 1940; ex-collection Charles K. Davis.
