Sack catalogue description: Chippendale walnut slipper armchair, carved back, legs and scrolled skirt, the arms have a masterful powerful sweep and rhythm equaled by few other Philadelphia specimens; original finish. The design and detail of the carved back, legs and scrolled skirt is usually attributed to Benjamin Randolph; a comparison of the arms with a signed Randolph armchair supports this attribution.
