- Sack catalogue description: Pair of Hepplewhite shield-back side chairs with artistically designed splats, each with carved urn supporting a drapery in oval frame, the urn is supported on a plinth with carved rosettes; square tapered legs, old or original finish. These chairs are apparently from the same set as a chair in the Winterthur Museum, owned by James Dana (1735–1812) from Wallingford, Connecticut; see Montgomery, American Furniture, p. 97, pl. 47.
