Sack catalogue description: Chippendale tulip poplar pencil-post bed retaining the original blue-green paint, the head and footposts taper to a rare thinness at the top of 3/8 of an inch, the peaked headboard and footboard have cyma-curved ends; the pillow boards are replaced but the evidence of their original presence offers a rare variation, the tester frame and the rails are original and also retain the blue-green paint, the rails retain the original hand-wrought iron bed bolts. One of the finest pencil-post beds in any museum or private collection.
