- Sack catalogue description: Queen Anne San Domingan mahogany lowboy, boldly serpentine cabriole legs of squared outline with scrolled knee brackets, pad feet with flaring platforms; the apron is a masterful series of undulating scrolls with diamond center cutout under the fan-carved drawer, scrolls repeating in a reduced scale on sides, the outline formed by the beautifully modeled cabriole legs; brackets and apron design result in one of the most beautiful and creative compositions on an American Queen Anne lowboy, original brasses and dark brown patina. The top retains its original glue blocks with the name "Stephen -----" in contemporary chalk, written on the underside. This piece descended in the Broughton family of Salem, Massachusetts; Salem features are the flat shelf-scrolled knee returns and the diamond center apron cutout.
